Takataapui – Over the Rainbow

Takataapui is used more specifically for Maori genders, such as: - taahine - similar to mixed gender, sometimes non-binary, or transgender not-otherwise-specified - whakawahine - similar to trans woman - tangata ira tane - similar to trans man Takataapui is often used as a gender of it's self - Maori transgender not-otherwise-specified. Some also use takataapui to refer to non-Maori who are transgender and intersex.

Community Working Bee

Transgender social event and op shop working bee. We will be working on the op shop venue, mostly cleaning, pricing and hanging up clothes, and other finishing touches. The Sex and Gender Diverse Health Outcomes Working Group is a group of people who bring their expertise in working across the healthcare sector and community organisations. We are working together to create better health outcomes for sex and gender diverse people in the Wellington region, with a focus on youth well-being.

We are putting together a new resource about relationships; for takataapui, intersex, and trans people and their partners. It's the first of it's kind in Aotearoa, and you are invited to contribute.
