Vinegar Hill rainbow camp was beautiful! We sold hot dogs, vegetarian nachos, ice blocks, and soft drinks, and we raised $409 (before costs) – a wonderful maiden voyage for the fund raising hot dog trailer! We had an awesome time together having fun, meeting rainbow folks and their whaanau from all over Aotearoa, and hearing about the cool things that others are doing, as well as sharing our whakaaro.

Big thanks to everyone who donated to the trailer fix up fund, helped to clean and paint, picked up fridges, worked out gas bottles, camped at the hill and cooked in the trailer, and of course to everyone who brought he kai and drinks!

We’re looking forward to feeding folks at festivals over the summer – Out in the Park and the Aro Valley Fair are booked in, and others will be on the cards too. If you’re keen to volunteer with Aunty Dana’s op shop, the hot dog stand, or The Gender Centre in 2019, feel free to contact us on genderminorities@gmail.com – there’s always plenty of work to be done and lots of fun along the way!
