Our diversity posters are up in the capital city Wellington, with future plans to go up all over the country in small towns.
”What baby me wouldn’t have given to see these when I was struggling and I didn’t know that other people like me existed” says trans health and well being specialist Ahi Wi-Hongi. ”Being a young Māori trans person in a small predominantly pākehā town was so tough, but knowing I wasn’t alone would have really helped, and knowing who to reach out to for support, how to find community.”
If you live in a small town and would like to help Gender Minorities Aotearoa to reach trans people in your area, please click here to get in touch.
